THE BEARING WITNESS: A JOURNEY INTO YOU
WRITING WORKSHOP
Event Held: October 25, 2014
We are all history. We are all memory, made up of moments that have defined who we are and who we can be. For some of us, there is a strong desire to express ourselves through writing.
Perhaps the desire has been there forever. Perhaps it is newly acquired. Regardless of how long you've felt compelled to write, the desire remains. It's become a constant in your life. But the question of how to begin or where is the thing that stops you...
Perhaps the desire has been there forever. Perhaps it is newly acquired. Regardless of how long you've felt compelled to write, the desire remains. It's become a constant in your life. But the question of how to begin or where is the thing that stops you...
If you have that desire, the Bearing Witness workshop will help get you there. Personally intuitive and deeply motivational, this creative event is designed to unlock the door that has been blocking you from taking the next step. It will ease you from the idea of 'I can't' into the magical world of 'I can,' where your personal creativity is set free, allowing you to embrace the power of the written word.
The writing workshop takes place on the beautiful and historically-rich Marietta Square in Marietta, Georgia. The day consists of a writing workshop in the morning, a deliciously-prepared provided lunch and then it's on to the Historic Marietta Trolley Company where a trolley takes you on a tour of many of the historical sites Marietta is known for. From Greek Revival Homes to the Battlefields at Kennesaw Mountain, it will be a history-infused experience you will never forget.
After the tour, the workshop will resume with a culmination of all that you experienced during the day. There will be a question and answer segment at the courses end, where you'll get the chance to ask writing questions from a renown Award Winning and National Bestselling Author.

What is the Workshop About?
Bearing Witness: A Journey Into You is a writing workshop designed to help anyone who has the desire to write. Through a series of personalize, highly intuitive and sharply focused exercises, you will learn the ins and outs of crafting a story, how to get past writing blocks, tips on engaging the reader, and most importantly, how to get your story written.
Who is the Workshop for?
It’s for anyone who has a desire to write. Whether you’ve never written a single paragraph or have completed the first draft, the workshop is beneficial to anyone who wants to get their story ‘told’ (written.)
Does it Matter What I Want to Write About?
No. Doing a personal story? Would like to chronicle your family history? Want to create a crafty cookbook? Write a romance or a suspense thriller? This workshop is ideal because it delves into the craft of writing, which is applicable to all styles.
I’ve Already Started Writing Something. Is this Workshop a Good Fit for Me?
Absolutely! No matter your skill set or lack of, this workshop will elevate your abilities and provide you with bona fide tips, tools and methods that will provide better writing.
Is the Workshop Hard?
No, not at all. We believe fun and laughter is a wonderful way to engage people and so we use a lot of that. Writing can be a serious thing but we always bring in the fun! Don’t be surprised if the instructor breaks out in a song and dance!
I Want to Write but I’m a Little Intimidated by the Idea of Attending a Workshop.
We strive to provide a warm and receptive environment where there’s no ‘right’ or ‘wrong.’ Utilizing a basic component that we call ‘KCC’—Kindness, Consideration and Care—we encourage, not discourage and offer positive support to everyone who attends.
Why the Historical Tour?
History is an important part of writing. Write about any subject and there is a historical basis, real or imagined. By stepping back into a ‘time of long ago,’ we see how the past influences the present, and how our ‘foot print’ (writing) can leave behind a legacy long after we’re gone.
Do You Give Other Types of Workshops?
Yes. We offer workshops for all stages of writing: beginner, novice, aspiring and published. If you would like to know more them, you can send an email inquiry to: [email protected].
